FIND YOUR TRUCK · NO LISTINGS, NO PRESSURE

What truck do you actually need?

Answer four quick questions and get a practical recommendation matched to your route, cargo, and budget — without scrolling through a single listing.

Why isn’t there an inventory list?

OFleet Insights doesn’t run listings — it runs answers. Inventory turns daily, and a stale list helps nobody. Instead, the Truck Finder matches a truck type to your actual work, then Tommy confirms the recommendation against real trucks and real prices when you reach out. You get a current answer, not yesterday’s webpage.

What Truck Do You Actually Need?

No lot listing. No pressure. Answer four quick questions and get an honest recommendation — the same advice I’d give you if you called me. When you’re ready, I’ll connect you with the right inventory or walk you through financing.

How to Think About It

Behind every recommendation above are four decisions. Get these right and the truck almost picks itself:

1. CDL or not?

Under 26,001 lbs GVWR, your drivers only need a regular license. Over it, you need CDL drivers. This single answer eliminates half the lot — always start here.

2. How far are you running?

Home every night? A day cab or box truck. Multi-day trips? You need a sleeper — and the sleeper size (72″ vs 76″) matters more than most buyers expect.

3. What’s the cargo?

General freight is simple. Temperature-controlled freight means a reefer unit — and the unit’s hours matter as much as the truck’s miles. Hauling equipment? Ask about PTO and wet kits.

4. What’s the real budget?

Include more than the sticker price: insurance, maintenance reserves, and downtime. The cheapest truck on the lot is rarely the cheapest truck to own. Financing can put the right truck within reach instead of the available one.

Straight Answers

Do I need a CDL for a box truck?

Only if its GVWR is over 26,001 lbs. Most 16’–26′ box trucks sold to local businesses are spec’d under that line precisely so any licensed driver can run them. Always check the door sticker, not the ad.

What are reefer hours, and how many is too many?

Reefer hours measure how long the refrigeration unit has run — like miles for the cooling system. Under 12,000 hours is the sweet spot for used units; over 15,000 means budget for service soon. Ask for the unit’s download, not just the number.

Should I buy from a dealer or a private seller?

A fleet-maintained truck from a dealer like Ryder comes with service history from day one — you know exactly what you’re buying. Private sellers are cheaper but you’re buying their maintenance habits, whatever they were.

How much should I budget beyond the purchase price?

Plan for insurance, registration, an initial DOT inspection, and a maintenance reserve (figure $0.12–$0.18 per mile for a Class 8). If that math is uncomfortable, financing the right truck beats paying cash for the wrong one.

Can you find a specific truck for me?

Yes — that’s the job. Tell me what the Finder recommended (or just describe your work) and I’ll search Ryder’s nationwide inventory, verify the specs against actual photos, and send you real candidates. Text (903) 268-3537.
